In the fifties, Morocco was still under French protectorate. Touria Chaoui, a young girl from the bourgeoisie of Fez, was distinguished by her passion for aviation. Despite the obstacles and the reluctance of the authorities to admit a young Moroccan girl could to pilot training, Touria, supported by her father, journalist and writer, was enrolled at the Tit-Mellil flying school.

She was just sixteen when she successfully won her pilot's license issued by the French Air Force. Touria was the youngest pilot in the world and the first aviator in the Arab world.

At that time, the Moroccan resistance to French occupation was organized. Touria became a symbol of militancy and emancipation of Moroccan women. She was murdered at the wheel of her car on Thursday, March 1, 1956, the day before the independence of Morocco.

Her only younger brother, who was eleven years old, witnessed her death and decided to pay homage to her through this book.
